Blair's Memoirs - Self-Serving Lies To Salve His Conscience

Tony Blair was facing a furious backlash last night after sensationally claiming that he is seeking redemption for his decision to go to war in Iraq. The former Prime Minister uses his memoirs – published today – to confess his daily torment over the “nightmare” conflict and make his strongest expression of sorrow and remorse but he angered relatives of soldiers who lost their lives in Iraq by once again stopping short of apologising for the botched decision to join the 2003 invasion.

“I can’t say sorry in words; I can only hope to redeem something from the tragedy of death, in the actions of a life, my life, that continues still,” he says in the book.

Last night critics branded him a “hypocrite” for claiming to be seeking redemption while making millions in his new life after leaving Downing Street and senior Labour figures were also braced for the party’s leadership feuding to intensify after Blair delivers his verdict on Gordon Brown’s disastrous premiership.

Blair describes his successor as “difficult, at times maddening” and a “standard bearer for dissent” who resisted many Government reforms and put “relentless personal pressure” on his rival. He reveals that he continually agonised over his desire to sack Brown as Chancellor, but confesses that he ducked out because his bitter rival was “head and shoulders above the others” compared to rival Labour Cabinet ministers.

What a self-serving hypocritical bastard he is - and every bit as delusional as the cunt, Brownfinger! No-one is ever going to forgive him for what he has done and the sooner he realises that the better. He shamelessly sucked up to George Bush to put himself in a position to earn a fucking fortune when he left Downing Street - nothing more, nothing less!

The only thing that would at least go some way towards alleviating the pain of the grieving relatives of our armed forces whose sons, husbands and fathers have laid down their lives so that Blair and his wife, the Blair Witch, could fill their boots and their bank account(s), is if we were ever  to elect a government with any balls or conscience at all, that Blair would be forced to face a war crimes trial in the Hague and end up languishing in prison for a very long time - and, of course, his and Slot-Gob's ill-gotten gains would also be seized by the court and divided equally among all those who lost their loved ones!

CUNT!

This does seem disingenuous.  Is it just to sell books? *DONT_KNOW*

There are insufficient words in the English language to adequately describe my deep loathing for this pathetic, self-serving, spineless, duplicitous creature and everything he represents ..

The sooner someone "slots" him the better for the entire world .. which will at least smell a little cleaner ..

On the contrary, Indy, I think you expressed it beautifully! ;)

It's mainly to try and salve his conscience, TCL - just imagine that Tony B. Liar is Obamaladingdong's evil twin and you'll get the idea what the British people think of him. ;)

Blair is horrible.  It's just to make more money.  No one will forgive him.  He sucks!  I agree with Indy too ;)

What's required now is some inspired investigatory blogging with regard to the Co-Operative movement & its "doings"  ..

As they appear to be, virtually single-handedly, propping-up this almost bankrupt apology for a political party, the sooner they can be eliminated the better ..

Meanwhile, I'd encourage a total boycott of all their services .. hit 'em where it huts (profits) .. what they don't earn over their counters & through their Bank, they can't use to support Labour ..

He's a slimy bastard, Bunni, and I seriously hope that eventually someone will do as CH says........ "<span>The sooner someone 'slots' him the better for the entire world"! </span> >:o

Too bloody right, mate, I like some of the stuff they sell - but I don't like it that fucking much! ;)

I think we're at cross purposes, Banned - the war I am talking about here is the Iraq War, which we all know was an illegal war instigated by a pack of lies in a "sexed up" dodgy dossier produced by Alistair Campbell on the instructions of the Blair creature. We also know that the Attorney General, under duress, "changed his mind" about the legality of that war so that Blair could proceed with his sucking up to George Bush and feathering his own nest. ;)

I used to love some of the fresh bread they had, especially those large crusty rolls, ("pain rustique"), which were just perfect for really good sandwiches - but, as you say, fuck 'em, I can live without it! :-$

I wonder just how many people who voted for any party other than Labour at the last election are fully aware of the involvement of the Co-Operative movement in financing Labour and keeping them afloat ?

I believe that a great many people who use local Co-Op shops, either for convenience or for particularly favoured products (as mentioned by yourself & Banned)  would be truly horrified to learn that their hard-earned was being used to perpetuate the very party which they deliberately chose not to vote for ..

Maybe the time has come to highlight the relationship betwee the Co-Op & the Labour Party ?? ..

Because you can bet your sweet life, its not something either organisation will advertise ..

Good post. He led the country to war against a non-belligerent country in defiance of international law. Jail's too good for the bastard. And why, since he's now a private citizen, is the tax-payer funding his bodyguards? The fact that he's living in fear and even needs guards should remind him of his evil deeds, but it won't because he is not a normal man otherwise he wouldn't have done what he did in the first place.

Much as I agree with you Richard .. and much as I loathe & detest Blair ..

The fact is, that as a former PM, he is (like all other former PM's) entitled to armed Police Protection Officers for the rest of his life ... the costs for which are, inevitably deducted from the public purse ..

In that single respect, he's no different from any who've gone before him .. or will come after him ...

I agree, jail is too good for him, swinging at the end of a rope would be much more appropriate - just like he arranged for Saddam! :-P

I would have thought very few, if any at all - it's not the sort of thing that would ever occur to anyone when they're only buying some food...... definitely time to start shouting the Co-op/Labour alliance from the rooftops! >:o
